[ Tidus will be leaning against the most convenient surface, half-watching the petals from the Tree of Memories flutter and fall, but mainly not paying any attention until he hears Sora. His chin comes down and he pulls away from the wall, a bag hanging in hand.
He takes one step to meet Sora halfway—

Translation: what the heck is that thing following you Sora. Alright, Tidus will meet him someway, staring and ready to point a finger at The Thing. ]
[Sora looks at Tidus and then his companion and then back to Tidus and frowns just a bit. Tidus, it's rude to point?! But he gets it. His dream eater is one strange looking thing. Is it even allowed to be off leash? Who knows.]
Uh, yep. This is Biscotti. [You know, after the snack biscuit.] He's my dream eater! Why?
[The bouncy boy makes a strange and happy sounding mewl noise and then barks once. Like it's both a cat and a dog...??]
Anyway! I was gonna ask you, you didn't tell anyone about that gate thing we broke, did you?
[ Hey, Tidus isn't here to insult anything or anyone, even if he does want to point out it looks like a big wobbly rubber water animal balloon! Like. A lot. A great big deal, it's sitting on his tongue and everything.
But he'll swallow it down, 'cause he ain't no bully! Frowns though when Sora brings up about the gate. ]
That? No, why would I tell anyone? Why? Was someone asking?
[Sora does pick up the dream eater, the pudgey boy giving a happy mewl and looking like an overstuffed sausage in Sora's arms. He gives the creature a squeeze and he meeps too. Meeeeep.]
Good! Good! I was just worried someone was gonna sneak up on us about it. You know, those people at the Thras temple can be pretty serious.
[He smiles though, feeling better about that. So maybe their delinquency will be kept a secret.]
Ignoring the twitch at the side of his mouth to watch that display, turning into some relief that the Shaarnath police aren't coming for their backside, ]
Fine! This place is a lot easier than where I was, I dunno what to do half the time. [ He brings up the brown bag, contents clinking. ] There's no blitzball, so I was thinking about doing some training, but it doesn't sound like there's that big of a fiend problem up here as there is around Shaarnath.
--Or, monsters. [ Eh, words. ] Not unless I want to go all the way to the mountains.
[Call his companion a water balloon, do it Tidus.]
Sounds like you're getting a bit stir crazy already, Tidus. [Sora chuckles.] It's starting to get pretty cold now with winter coming so I guess it's pretty typical that the monsters aren't coming around as much?
[They do have their fair share of fiend problems this time of year, though.]
Squall and me sometimes go up to the mountains for hunts and stuff but it's way too cold to do that now. Spring will probably be a lot busier for the monster hunting guild. But I bet you could still find some work to do with hunting if that's what you wanna do.
[ Tidus would be so down for mimicking his very limited (but obviously very accurate) impression of Squall, if not for the appearance of those hearts. They're— odd. That's a thing that can happen?
But then the implication sinks in right around as Tidus's mouth curves into a grin. ]
Oh, yeah? [ very knowing voice, with his arms folding as his head leans forward playfully. ]
Just a really nice guy, huh? You make tiny hearts for all your friends?
[Catching sight of his own hearts emoting above him like he's some sorta shoujo anime girl, Sora quickly waves a hand up to try and dispel them which makes his meow wow mewl with annoyance at almost being dropped.]
Uh, err! Those ones are probably just for Squall. Hahaha...!
[ Okay, that gets a burst of laughter from Tidus, as well as that knock on the shoulder he was holding back (don't mind us, water balloon). A sunny warmth enters the air, despite the tang of the sea carried on a breeze. ]
That doesn't count as a crush, geez!
[ Hahaha! But okay, give Tidus a second. ]
But hey, small world! He was one of the first people I met. He's not a bad guy — he even agreed to go on a hunt with me after I came up here. [ Considering how little they know each other...! ] Guess I should've figured, since the two of you know Auron.
[The rush of joy honestly is really infectious and it has Sora laughing too. Those little pink hearts return to float about and when he's knocked on the shoulder Sora grins bright and drops his water balloon for real this time. The creature just barks and waddles over a few paces before flopping down on the ground like a squishy pancake.]
Hahah! That sounds like him. [Squall likes helping and hunting.] I guess we're all sort of Auron's weird kids, now.
[ Tidus missed his chance to see if it flattened when it fell...! But that's okay, since he's rather enjoying the present company, despite Sora's remark earning something of a cheery-groan and Tidus pulling a face. He's even got his hands out just like your icon, spiky. ]
Uggghh, what, you run around and he's somewhere in the background watching you? Trust me: It's not as fun as it sounds.
[ GET USED TO IT, BUDDY!! Tidus is not going to agree to anything positive about Auron, and simply fold his arms instead. ]
Yeah, but I have to rent one right now. [ Siiiggh. ] It's not that bad... the hunts pay a lot, so I covered the money Auron lent me easy. And to be honest, I'd rather wave around a sword for a while than get stuck working in a shop or his and his friend's inn.
[ So boring....! ]
Plus, I'm a guardian! [ That perks him, and he waves a hand in idle gesture. ] I figure even if I'm here and time doesn't really make sense, I should still train. I have someone I need to protect when I go back.
[He'll get those feel good mushy family feelings out of Tidus one of these days! He swears it! #HEALTHYRELATIONSHIPS. He even gives Tidus a bit of a look because Auron lent him money like a good uncle would.
But then he laughs.] Me too, I don't know how people sit around working those kinds of jobs. Monster hunts are way better!
[Even if Squall is one of those people at the restaurant.]
And, you're talking about Yuna, right?
[Please don't think he's weird for knowing this much about Tidus, Sora's just been around a lot.]
