[There's been another setback with Tidus and Jecht trying to get along. This time it seems fairly serious. Enough that Tidus stopped working at the inn. While Auron does believe in giving Tidus some space, it's gone on enough.
Time to figure things out. And by that, he means leading the chocobos by reins since he knows Tidus can't resist.]
[ It's a surprise when Tidus feels the connection signalling Auron. Confusion comes before the realisation it's been a while, and maybe because it's been a while is why Auron's...
Oh. Yeah. He hesitates, but doesn't decline the link for their connection. Even with his small iota of guilt, and knowing this could lead to an Auron lecture. But then, when wasn't that a fear. ]

[ He'll close the amulet connection a little after that, but it won't take more than a few minutes for Tidus to appear from the front doors of the apartment complex, coming out onto the road. A quick glance finds him Auron, and company too he realises, eyes blinking in surprise at the sight.
The chocobos? He wonders, but Tidus won't ask outright, looking from the pair to Auron. A hand rests on his hip. ]
[ Is this where he's meant to feel less guilty, or?? That would be nice. Or maybe this feeling is not so much guilt as it is Auron foreboding, and if only Tidus could get outta him whatever else it is he wants to talk to him about!
But Glacian kwehs! as his reins as handed over, and Tidus knows that the chocobo doesn't want to wait for any conversations in the middle of the road. So he'll hold his tongue on that, getting another happy chocobo chirp as he climbs on its back. ]
[They go slow while in town, but once in the outskirts, they're able to increase the pace. Enough that they can ride side by side and not be in anyone's way.]
I know you and Jecht are oil and water. But whatever's happened now is a little beyond what I've seen from both of you. All I want to know is what happened.
[ Serious amulet conversations. Do they have to? Just because it's easier and more efficient doesn't mean Tidus has to like it...! ]
He said if I've got a problem with him dating, we're not family. So? There's nothing to get into.
[ A stubborn position that lasts about three seconds, because Tidus can't think that and not let the hurt come through, turning into anger. ] Why should I go along with every stupid idea he gets in his head? 'Cause he's my old man? He hasn't been my old man in ten years--I don't need him!
[There are times that he could easily choke one or both of the pair. This time he's leaning a bit more Jecht. There are not many people he's met that are consistently terrible at properly communicating. He also recognizes the hurt tone in Tidus' voice.]
So you found out about this, you asked him what was going on and he just blurted that out? Only asking because I want to understand.
I kind of knew they were serious but not that serious. I deferred to his wishes to let him tell you about what was happening.
[He seems to vaguely recall this being brought up in an earlier conversation with Jecht, but because he didn't come out and announce it, he hadn't realized it at the time.]
So he just dropped that and then said if you don't like it, too bad?
[That's a very Jecht thing to do and he's kind of facepalming while riding a chocobo.]
[ Tidus tightens his grip the reins, stewing in an annoyance that he otherwise tries to keep swallowed down; more so when Glacian bristles with rustling feathers, pausing in the act, and Tidus having the sense to realise the issue was him.
He mutters an apology to the bird, breathing in the fresh air after just to let it back out. ]
It doesn't matter. So what? I told you, I don't need him. Jecht can do whatever he wants.
[ It's bitter, but there's something tired, more exhausted in what he shares. ]
[This wasn't the only thing that Tidus didn't know about, but certain other things he'd promised to let Yuna tell.
At the same time, he began to see (for the first time) from the young man's point of view. Being constantly jerked around by Jecht. As much as he loved his brother, he knew Jecht was terrible at communicating his wishes.]
I guess I'd be tired, too.
[He wanted to have father and son somehow meet in the middle, but that's so hard to do when both parties are so stubborn and constantly hurt each other.]
I told you a long time ago that we wouldn't always see eye to eye and you probably wouldn't agree with a lot of the things I did. But that I'd always listen to you. That hasn't changed.
