And whereas usually Tidus and Inigo tend to be the origin of any kind of chaotic shenanigans going on around them, today that's definitely not the case. And it sure wasn't hard to figure out what was going on either, considering all these kids with faces that seemed familiar, yet younger - and Roland's obvious change. Something weird is happening again, maybe something similar to the voidstorm. Hopefully something that should similarly not last that long.
But for now they've just retreated from all the chaos. The constant sound of quick footsteps as kids run around, the screaming. And while there aren't too many places to hide from that sort of thing when you're stuck on a train, the spa carriage seemed like their best option for now.
.. although their spa carriage decision brings a whole new discovery with it. Perhaps Tidus has already changed into one of the available trunks, but Inigo seems a little slower.
And not out of a sense of embarrassment, this time. Instead he lifted his shirt, took a look, and then let the part of the shirt he was holding drop from his hands again, so he's still just wearing it. ]
Tidus?
[ His voice is a little soft, yet surprised at the same time. Inigo turns his face towards the other. ]
It's--.. They're gone. [ A very comprehensive explanation as to what exactly he means, huh. ]
[ Sheesh, kids are so...moody. Romeo's really spoilt him, though it's fortunate that the kid still has all the energy in the void and more to handle them, as well as those more eager to play adult to the shrunken passengers who haven't retained their memories. It's a weird sort of fun for a time, but Tidus is happy to get away from the confusion and chaos, the novelty wearing off after a time. Is this going to be a week long thing, or something? That they can deal with later.
For now, Tidus wants to relax - away from the kids' shows, board games and balls games already occupied (and massively indulged in), and to some actual peace and quiet. ...or honestly, just somewhere soothing, with the only place for that turning out to be the spa. It's the closest facility to a pool they have right now, and once the idea pops into his mind, Tidus is eager, even for the heat and the bubbles; quick to undress, 'cause why wait?
And he's rolled up his clothes, shoving them at the bottom of the closet for safe keeping when Inigo speaks up, and Tidus looks over at him, confused.
They're...? ]
--Who? [ He looks back, as if there was someone else that Inigo saw. But there's no one (obviously), and he returns his gaze onto Inigo.
[ Sorry for the delay, Tidus. Because Inigo definitely doesn't answer right away - still too occupied by the surprise of what he just witnessed a moment ago. Even with what he knows is going on with people turning younger or older, this is still weird on an entirely different level that he's having some trouble process it. ]

[ He starts, then looks around them. Even though they're obviously alone, it's like he's still worried about someone overhearing. ]
.. my scars.
[ And, to demonstrate, this time Inigo does fully take his shirt off. At least that's going easier in front of Tidus by now.
[ His scars...? Tidus blinks, wondering if he isn't hearing the guy right (disappearing scars? for something...other than a wound? a disappearing something else??), but when Inigo finally pulls up his shirt, he sees it - the lack of anything to see, other than a torso, and nothing else marking the skin.
That is definitely a case of disappearing scars. Tidus's eyes shoot widen open, head leaning in and then out, and he takes a step to look from a different angle. ]
Wha-- how come?! What about that big one on your shoulder? [ He reaches over tugging with one hand on the shirt. ] Take a look!
[ Usually Inigo may at least wilt a bit more under being looked at like this, but it helps a lot that he knows all Tidus is looking at is just his scars. Or rather, the lack of them.
And it also helps that Inigo busies himself with taking his shirt fully off now, pulling it over his head and holding it loosely in one hand by his side. ]
No, it's-- it's all gone. [ And it's so weird?! Inigo is so used to seeing them when he looks down. So used to feeling the one on his shoulder whenever he runs his hand over there.
He does the same thing now with his free hand, but all he can touch is just.. skin. It's really gone.
His gaze shifts over to Tidus's, seeking out eye contact with the other. ]
Do you think it has something to do with how so many people are kids and Roland is old? [ You know.
[ There is a pause, where Tidus considers what Inigo is saying proper... ]
Isn't that because Roland is old?
[ ...but ok, look, he had to, look at his grin. Tidus returns his attention back to that shoulder, raising his hand, and he strokes it over the skin where the bite mark had been so prominent. But, there's not even bumps...! ]
I don't have a clue, but-
[ But there's something far more important, his eyes settling on Inigo's, his hand resting on the curve of Inigo's arm. ]
How do you feel about it? [ It's a sincere question, one where he even tries not to sound any particular way about it other than curious. Though, he can't rid the soft curves of his mouth, the hope that Inigo might be pleased deep down. ]
There's a bit of a slight shiver when Tidus's fingers move over his shoulder like that, but there's no protest to the touch otherwise. He can understand Tidus wanting to feel it - if Inigo hadn't felt it to make sure he felt nothing but ordinary skin, he wouldn't believe it was truly gone either. It's just too odd of a change.
Which is why his immediate answer is: ]
It's.. odd. [ He's gotten so used to them, after all. It's so weird to suddenly find your body not being what it used to be anymore, especially so suddenly.
The look in Inigo's eyes - because he is actually meeting Tidus's gaze - is a little uncertain too, but it's unfinished. He's still thinking. ]
But.. I mean.. This is what I always wished my body looked like.
[ Unmarred. Like all the crappy things that happened to him back home never were a thing at all. Like he's untouched by the ugliness of war, of the apocalypse. ]
[ There's the suggestion of a question there, a point to go on top of Inigo's own and what he's already stated. But Tidus is being careful, picky with what he says than what he could be - for maybe once in his life.
Because he can see that Inigo's brain is still reeling through this, and Tidus can't help but to take another look over of Inigo either, of that particular nasty mark he remembers being bitten into his shoulder - but he's not the guy who's seen them all his life, been affected by them being there, so his eyes find themselves back to Inigo's quickly, easily.
The how and why aren't really so important to him than the process Inigo is going through currently. ]

Or rather, they at least knew that was what was happening. Right now there didn't seem to be any warning. They just woke up, and things suddenly were like this.
Which makes Tidus's explanation, in turn, not seem all that impossible. ]
But you really think someone could've done this? [ Rather than sounding sceptical, Inigo sounds a little worried as he puts on the trunks. ] On purpose? Why would they?
[ Tidus had already put the pool to fill when they first came in, and it's sitting there waiting for him, steam wafting off from the surface that Tidus breaks as he dips in his feet. ]
See what happens? Easier than just asking everyone if you can go and pour your potion into the food. Then you get more volunteers.
[ ''Volunteers''. But actually, didn't they have chicken yesterday? Hmm, maybe they put it in the water instead?
It's a half-hearted thought at the very least, which might be why Tidus isn't all that concerned over the idea that someone on the train would be okay with testing their concoctions on the entire train. Plus, what's he supposed to do?? ]

[ Inigo is quiet for a moment, contemplating it. He can't say he likes the idea of someone doing that to all of them without asking, but considering some of the types on this train.. It's not exactly impossible.

Senku also got turned into a little kid. [ Inigo likes to think Senku is better than that, but.. you know. He sometimes sees things in wild ways. ] But I guess there are plenty of people on the train we don't know all that well who could've done it..
[ Having finished changing into the trunks, Inigo finally hobbles after Tidus, until he's right next to the other. Watching Tidus as he's quite literally testing the waters. ]

Really? [ Inigo looks surprised, his eyes widening slightly. His head rising up from the water a bit more, so his shoulders are visible again. ]
No, he only told me that his hair had turned white from stress. Not being able to have long hair if you want to be taken seriously just seems odd to me.. There were plenty of men with hair longer than mine back in Ylisse.
[ Maybe it wasn't quite the standard, or default, but at the very least having Roland's ponytail wouldn't be seen as odd at all. ]

I don't get it either. They had guys with long hair back in Spira too. [ Not to speak of his own old man. But he touches the side of his own hair, admits after considering it: ] I was thinking of seeing how my hair'd look long. Got nothing I need to dress up for.
[ At least, for the ends that can do with trimmed. But otherwise, why not? He's never really had it long before. ]
Anyhow, he's the leader of his own country. Who cares what your hair looks like when there's other stuff to be worrying about?

[ After all, he's never seen Tidus with anything different, other than it maybe being a bit shorter at first, or the colour being more even.. But never anything as drastically different as him having long hair. It's hard to imagine.

But.. I told you before. You're really good-looking, Tidus. I'm sure you'd look incredibly handsome with long hair too. [ It's not just Inigo goofing around. He sounds very serious about it, though it's paired with a smile on his face, and him rising from the water even a bit more, as if to show his investment in this conversation. ] So if you want to try seeing how it looks, you should.
